When you walk into your house, does it feel like autumn? If not, it may be time to spice it up a bit. Get creative and bring fall festivity into your living space.
Start off by decorating your porch and/or the area by your front door. Give it a fall makeover. Add some pumpkins, dried cornstalks, fall flowers, or an autumn wreath to your door. A door mat with an autumn theme or colors can be a nice addition.
Now, get started indoors. There are a lot of little touches you can add throughout the inside of your home to bring fall into your living space. Making simple changes can give it that cozy fall feel. Here are some simple things you can do to bring the season inside:
- Pick a new centerpiece for your table. Fall flowers, small pumpkins, gourds, pine cones, and dried corn cobs all make beautiful and easy centerpieces.
- Give your living room a fall overhaul. Change out throw pillows for fall themed ones or get some covers to put your throw pillows in. Also, bring out the soft throws for cozy nights.
- Bring autumn to your mantel. A lot of the same things you can use for your centerpiece can be used for your mantel. Or, make it easy and get a fall themed garland. You can also hang a wreath above your mantel to give it a little extra oomph.
- Bring the smell of autumn into your house. Scents play a key role in creating atmosphere. Try a fall scented candle or room spray.
- Bake or cook up some of your favorite fall comfort foods, then cozy up and enjoy!
There are so many ways to bring autumn into your home. Make your living space warm and inviting, and give it a fall aroma. Embrace the season!
